KOSICE ARRIVAL

Dan and Jim arrived yesterday in Kosice and have been making contact to complete our mission this week to arrange for the 2009 teams that will serve God here.  We have emailed our friends in Poprad, telephoned our contacts in Presov to arrange meetings and are visiting those here Kosice.  We attended a youth meeting at the Kosice Baptist Church and went out later with some youth from the church.

Dan has been meeting with Sue Strekel this morning while Jim traveled to the east to see more of Eastern Slovakia.  In discussions with Slovaks here we are getting a better estimation of the potential effectiveness of our planned activites for 2009.  There is a sharp similarity between our efforts in state side churches and those mission trips we have planned for Team Kosice.  Many Christians here are wanting to reach out to the lost, be trained in effective ministries and practice hands on means of sharing God’s word.

We will attend church in Kosice in the morning and renew those relationships here.  Monday morning we meet with the pastor and chairman of the elders in Kosice; Monday afternoon we travel to Presov.  While in Presov we will meet with the ministry leader there and with some friends at the Youth for Christ building.  We will visit our good friend Lubo who is in the hospital in Presov.  Please pray for him as he is having medical problems.  Bob Dyer and Debbie Eddington share with you our story of Lubo or you can read about him in the blogs for our September – October trip of 2007.

Please pray and ask God how you can be a part of the efforts here.  Be sure to visit our blog for September 24th of this year where you will find a list of the teams for 2009 and a pplication to be a member of those teams.
